There have been multiple reports of bear activity in the area with food scraps bins being reported as knocked over and pried open. Please ensure to secure both latches on food scraps bins. Please report any knocked over bins to Bayside for cleanup to be arranged.
May 9, 2023 | Roof Maintenance May 9 – May 25th, weather dependent
Canuck Roofing Ltd. will be performing roof maintenance throughout the complex. The work will include: Roof/gutter cleaning, inspections & roof maintenance.
Please be advised that workers will be accessing front and/or back property areas for ladder setup and roof access. While workers will be careful there may be some falling debris. Council recommends keeping windows closed while the work is in progress. Additionally, Council recommends removing any vehicles and/or personal belongings from beneath the roofline.
PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN ENTERING OR EXITING YOUR BUILDING!
Waste disposal areas will be hoarded. Do not enter hoarded areas.
Use extreme caution of falling debris.
Temporary onsite parking will occur for loading and off- loading equipment.
There may be some noise while work is occurring.

for All Lyra Place and Centaurus Circle homes
Please be advised of a water shut down on Monday, April 17, 2023 to replace shut off valves for 2 Lyra street buildings. The shut down will commence at 9am and will be back on by 5pm. The cabana will be made available to the homes impacted by the shutdown.
You can prepare for a water shutdown by filling up pots and/or your bathtub with water.
Sediment in the supply lines could cause dirty water once the water has been turned back on. Once the water is back on please run the tub faucet until it runs a bit clearer so as not to cause sediment build up and blockage to sink aerators.
Apr 10, 2023 | Fence Staining for New Fences
Fence staining for the fences built in March is scheduled to begin Apr 17, weather dependent. The following newly constructed fences will be stained:
- 9017 – 9023 Altair Place (odd units)
- 9010 – 9016 Lyra Place (even units)
- 9044 Centaurus Circle
Items on or attached to fences must be removed. Any larger items and/or sheds must be moved well clear from the fencing area, a minimum of 3 feet away from the fence, to ensure the crew can access all fence areas.

This work had been postponed to another date TBD.
Please be advised that the water will be shut off Wed Mar 1st. We do not have an exact start time but it will occur sometime between 8:30am and 5pm. Once off it will remain off for approximately 3 hours for a water valve replacement.
Feb 12, 2023 | Fence Replacements Work
Please be advised that Built to Last Construction will be on site to remove and replace the cedar fences and gates for 9 units and several common fences beginning on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Construction will occur in segments in the order noted below, but prep work in a subsequent area may begin prior to the completion of the previous section to keep the project moving forward.
- 9017 – 9023 Altair Place
- 9010 – 9016 Lyra Place, 9044 Centaurus Circle

A watermain break on Lyra Place that required the water to be shut down immediately, is now repaired. The water has been turned back on for the Lyra units noted above.

There is currently a watermain break on Lyra Place that requires the water to be shut down immediately, the water will be off until an emergency repair can be done. Timing is unknown but the issue has been located and a crew is working on prepping for the repair work now. Updates will be posted once they are available.
Jan 19, 2023 | Water Turned Back On for Centaurus Circle, Centaurus Drive and Lyra Place
On Jan 19 the homes on Centaurus Drive were connected to their new water main feed and the water is turned back on for the streets noted above.
Jan 17, 2023 | Water Shut Down Jan 19 for Centaurus Circle, Centaurus Drive and Lyra Place
Please be advised Ainsworth/Latham’s has requested a water shut down on Thursday, January 19, 2023 to connect the Centaurus Drive homes to their new water main feed. The shut down is scheduled to commence at 8 am and will last for approximately 8 hours. The cabana will be open for washroom use during this time.
NOTE – To Avoid Sink Aerator Blockage

Jan 6, 2023 | Live Christmas Tree Pickup Jan 9 – 27
The City of Burnaby will be picking up live Christmas trees between Jan 9 to 27. Only natural trees can be recycled and they must be free of ornaments, tinsel and lights. Natural trees that have been covered in snow foam and artificial trees are excluded.
Trees for recycling must be left at the following locations and tree placement must not interfere with the green garbage /recycling/food scrap bins being picked up:
- On the grass beside the green garbage bin in the Carina Place circle
- In the dead space at the Altair recycling station (the area with the salt bin)
- The shrub area behind the Lyra Place recycling station.
