Dec 7, 2021 | Roof Maintenance Update
Canuck Roofing Ltd is performing roof maintenance throughout the complex. Weather permitting the work is expected to take 5 to 6 days and may include Saturdays. Due to weather issues we anticipate the work to continue into the week of Dec 13.

Owners are reminded that workers will be accessing front and/or back property areas for ladder setup and roof access. Please ensure gates are unlocked and access is available. While workers will be careful there may be some falling debris.

Dec 3, 2021 | Tree Work Starting Dec 6
BC Tree will be onsite pruning trees around the grounds starting Dec 6th. The work is expected to take 2 to 3 days.

Dec 3, 2021 | Roof Maintenance Starting Dec 6
Canuck Roofing Ltd will be performing roof maintenance throughout the complex. The work is expected to take 5 to 6 days and may include Saturday.

The work will include: Roof/gutter cleaning, inspections & roof maintenance. workers will be accessing front and/or back property areas for ladder setup and roof access. While workers will be careful there may be some falling debris. Council recommends keeping windows closed while the Work is in progress. Additionally, Council  recommends removing any vehicles and/or personal belongings from beneath roofline.

Nov 24, 2021 | Crime Report – Vehicle Theft from Lyra East Parkade
A vehicle was reported stolen from Lyra East Parkade sometime between Monday Nov 25, noon and Tuesday Nov 26, 08:30 a.m. Please report any suspicious activity you may notice to the police.

Nov 23, 2021 | Fence Replacements to start on Nov 29 Built to Last Construction will be on site to remove and replace the cedar fences and gates for the following units:

  1. 3055 – 3057 Carina Place  (starting Nov 29)
  2. 9018 – 9032 Lyra Place
  3. 3026 – 3034 Carina Place

The complete removal and replacement of fencing will occur in each section before moving to the next section in the order listed above. The project is planned for completion by Dec 17. Fence staining will occur in the spring of 2022 once the weather is dryer.

Nov 23, 2021 – Fake Strata Scam In The News
There was a report in Burnaby Now regarding a Fake Strata Scam email going around to strata residents. This is information only – we don’t have any reports of our residents being impacted.  Also to note that any changes to our property management company would be included in our minutes and posted on this website. There are no plans for any change, please be cautious of any emails or texts you may receive.

Burnaby Now Article:  This email said the strata had hired a new company to manage the building and that residents needed to sign up through the email by clicking a link.

Nov 3, 2021 – Carina Place Damaged Carport Update
Contractors are still waiting for permits therefore an ETA on the work timeline could not be provided. Until the repairs are complete the 5 designated parking spaces on Carina Place circle will continue to be reserved for the 5 affected home owners.

Nov 1, 2021 – Electrical Room Entrances Maintenance Work
Crews will be working on pressure washing electrical room stairs and entrances today.

Oct 18, 2021 – Crime Report 
Please note that a report was received of a vehicle stolen from Carina Place.

Oct 5, 2021 – Telus Wiring Repairs
MTI Motts Electric technicians will be onsite to inspect and repair where required the new fibre optic wiring that was done earlier this year. Front and/or back yard access will be required.

Oct 5, 2021 – External Dryer Vent Cleaning for Oct 21, 22
Please note the external dryer vent cleaning has been scheduled to occur Oct.21st and 22nd.

Sep 27, 2021 – Pool Closure Date
Please note that the last day for pool access this season will be Oct 3rd, 2021.

Sep 24, 2021 – Carina Place Damaged Carport Update
We have just had an update from the Insurance company regarding the repair of the Carina Place carports that were damaged in June.

Contractors have been hired and they should begin work soon. Until the repairs are complete the 5 designated parking spaces on Carina Place circle will continue to be reserved for the 5 affected home owners.

We know this has been a huge inconvenience to all Carina Place residents, especially the most affected carport owners and we thank you for your cooperation during this time.

Sep 21, 2021 – Lyra Parkade Lighting Update is Complete
The lighting update for both Lyra parkades is now complete and parkade access for the electrical crew is no longer required for Wed Sep 22.

Sep 21, 2021 – Fire Hydrant Servicing on Oct 7
Please be advised that fire hydrant servicing will occur on Oct 7. Crews will be onsite servicing the 4 fire hydrants on the strata streets.

Sep 19, 2021 – Lyra Parkade Lighting Work for Sep 21, 22
Please be advised that parkade lighting work will be occurring: Tuesday September 21 & Wednesday September 22.

In both an energy and cost saving initiative the fluorescent lighting will be changed to LED lights in the Lyra underground parkades.

Owners are asked to remove their vehicles from the parkades between 8:30 am and 4:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sep 14, 2021 – Crime Report from Sep 8
Please note that a vehicle break was reported for the West Lyra Parkade on the night of Sep 8. Owners are reminded not to leave any valuables in their vehicles.

Aug 18, 2021 – Crime Report
We have received a report from an owner of an unlocked vehicle on Altair Place having the vehicle contents searched. Please ensure vehicles are locked and valuables are removed.

July 16, 2021 – Pool Access Update
Due to the relaxation of restrictions from the provincial government, we are no longer required to limit the number of people at the pool. As such the following updates to the Covid Pool Rules now apply:

  • NO OUTSIDE GUESTS
    The pool is open ONLY to the residents of NW 39 and NW65. No friends, relatives or non-residents are to use the pool.
  • Swim at your own risk.
  • Pool chairs will be not be provided; you are welcome to bring your own folding chair for your visit – kindly take them back home
  • No flotation devices or pool noodles are permitted, with the exception of swimming assistive gear for children.
  • No pool toys permitted
  • The remaining general pool rules are still in effect.

Pool hours are as follows:
General access: 8 am – 9:30 pm
Adult (18+) swim: 8 pm – 9:30 pm

July 7, 2021 – Pool Access Notice – Effective July 2, 2021
In consultation with Fraser Health and abiding by the province Phase 3 restart plan, please note there are many COVID 19 measures still in place. All pool rules are in effect.

As per Fraser Health Guidelines the pool is open ONLY to the residents of NW 39 and NW65. No friends or relatives are to use the pool. We are still required to keep contact tracing records in case there are any COVID outbreaks

Number of people permitted is as follows:
20 in the pool
15 on deck

Pool hours are as follows:
General access: 8 am – 9:30 pm
Adult (18+) swim: 8 pm – 9:30 pm

Jun 11, 2021 | Pool Open as of Wed Jun 16, 10am
The pool will be open on Wednesday, June 16th at 10 am. Due to the relaxation of restrictions from the provincial government, we are no longer required to utilize a schedule as had been done last summer, meaning the pool is open to all owners every day of the week.

Refer to the Pool Opening Notice on the Facilities page for details. Please note, however, that there are many Covid-19-related rules still in effect. The cabana will remain closed.

Jun 8, 2021 | Pool Tentative Opening Date for Jun 12
Strata Council has been working with Fraser Health on our pool re-opening strategy. At this stage we will tentatively be ready to open the pool June 12th, but this will not be determined until Jun 11th.  Stay tuned. The cabana will remain closed.

May 21, 2021 | Cabana & Pool Remain Closed
The cabana and pool remain closed due to our current Covid restrictions with the possibility of a pool opening to occur later in June. An update will be posted once the timing has been determined. The cabana will continue to remain closed for the foreseeable future.

May 18, 2021 | Pressure Washing & Line Painting of Centaurus Circle & Lyra Place Stairs
May 18 and 19 – Stairway pressure washing and line painting will occur on several sets of stairs for Centaurus Circle 9020 to 9044 and Lyra Place 9009 to 9033.

May 11, 2021 | Fence Staining for New Fences
Fence staining for the newly constructed fences will begin May 12th. For owners with new fences please ensure there is a 3 foot clearance from the fence to allow the contractors room to stain and for the fencing to dry.

Apr 7, 2021 | Male Approaching Community Youth 
Please be advised an 18 year old male in a Silver Honda Fit vehicle has been reported several times as approaching and/or trying to lure multiple teens and children in the neighborhood. This is the same male that was the subject of a significant police presence at Peanut Park on Easter Sunday Apr 5th as was reported in the Burnaby Now news:
Burnaby Now: Burnaby dad with baseball bat detains man who allegedly offered kids drugs.

Mar 23, 2021 | Suspicious Activity Reported
Please be advised a male was captured on a ring doorbell video checking out the Carina Place circle vehicles around 1:30 am Tuesday morning. Please ensure no valuables are left in vehicles. Additionally a person was interrupted and subsequently left the area after cutting bike locks in a carport in Altair Place.

Mar 11, 2021 | Multiple Garbage Dumping Complaints Received
Strata Council and Bayside have received numerous complaints of garbage and food scraps being left on or around the recycling bins. Please ensure that all garbage is placed in the appropriate bins and not on top, beside or behind bins. This attracts rodents and birds to feast on the contents. The following bylaws apply:

3.9 An Owner, Tenant or Occupant shall bag and tie ordinary household refuse and garbage, and deposit it in the Strata Corporation’s garbage container.
3.10 An Owner, Tenant, or Occupant shall place all recyclable household materials in the bins provided by the Strata Corporation for such purpose.
3.12 An Owner shall maintain or cause to be maintained in a good and clean condition his, her or its Strata Lot and any Common Property to which the Owner has exclusive use.

For any verified instances of garbage not being properly recycled as per our bylaws strata council will assess and fines may be applied.

27.1 If after all reasonable efforts, the Strata Corporation deems a fine to be the most appropriate penalty for an infraction by the Owner or the Owner’s Tenant or Occupant of the Bylaws or Rules, the Strata Corporation may fine an Owner as follows: (a) for the contravention of a Bylaw, a fine not to exceed $200.00 for each contravention;
